TactiCount
A Pocket-Sized Tactile Abacus

TactiCount™ is a portable, 3D-printed tactile abacus designed to help blind and low-vision students develop a deep understanding of counting, addition, and subtraction through direct finger movement and spatial awareness.
How to Use?
TactiCount™ is a compact, 3D-printed tactile abacus for blind and low-vision children. Using bead movement and place value rods, it builds strong number sense, addition, and subtraction skills. Kids count by touch, perform mental math, and reinforce learning when paired with tools like NumTiles™ or TactoNum™. Durable and travel-ready.

Step 1:Let the child explore bead positions by touch
Step 2:Assign place value: top rod = tens, bottom rod = ones (or vice versa).
Step 3: Ask them to “count in” a number by sliding beads to one side.
Step 4: Use for practising mental math: e.g., “Show me 7. Now add 5.”
Step 5: Use alongside NumTiles™ or TactoNum™ for multi-method reinforcement.
