TactoNum
The Tactile Number Learning Pad

TactoNum is a safe, hands-on math tool made from PET felt with removable discs and Braille alignment.
How to Use?
This tactile math tablet is designed for blind children to explore numbers through touch. With six disc slots, children can place or remove felt discs to understand counting, Braille numbers, and simple arithmetic. Engaging activities like addition, subtraction, and challenges make learning interactive, sensory-based, and fun, reinforcing number sense effectively.
Step 1: Introduce the Tablet- Let the child feel the green base tablet. Explain that it has six round disc spaces to place tactile dots.
Step 2: Feel and Remove the Discs- Allow the child to touch and remove each felt disc one by one, practising placement and removal.
Step 3: Match to Numbers Use Braille or printed number cards.- Ask the child to form a number using the correct count of discs.
Step 4: Reinforce with Braille- Match each number with its Braille notation. Say the number aloud as the child touches it.
Step 5: Play Addition or Subtraction- Form simple problems using discs (e.g., 2 + 3) and have the child solve by touch and count.
Step 6: Practice Challenges Play games:– Remove 4 discs, ‘Place 2 on top row’, etc. Reinforce number sense through play.
