Math Kit

NumTiles

One tile per digit.

Number tiles, 0–9

What it is

Ten tiles, one per digit, each carrying raised felt dots and a large-print numeral. They work on their own or slotted onto the TactoNum board.

Back to the Math Kit
The NumTiles set spread out: rectangular tiles each showing a large numeral above a pattern of raised black dots.

Step by step

How it’s used

  1. Let the child explore the tiles by touch.
  2. Ask them to count the raised dots on each.
  3. Say the number aloud and match it to a Braille or printed card.
  4. Arrange the tiles in order, or into simple number patterns.
  5. Mix them up and ask the child to identify each one by feel.

Looking after them

Wipe gently with a dry cloth. Keep away from water, glue and sharp tools, and store the set in its pouch. Use under supervision with children under three.
